Default Boxing & Muay Thai - what do you prefer?

What do you guys prefer for stand up Boxing or Muay Thai?

Some of the punches i've seen muay thai fighters throw don't look anything like how boxers throw punches, boxers look alot more crisp and powerful imo, do you agree or disagree?

i would say boxing practitioners, because they only use their fists can and do have more time to get better at punching.. plus theres obviously a distance issue when you get in a bit closer to punch, if you're a thai boxer you can throw a shin kick easier as they're within range.. both are great to learn and probably great to learn seperately so you can bring the boxing skills into muay thai... hence MMA

I would say I prefer to watch boxing, as it looks a more pure form of fighting, but if you put a boxer in the ring with a Muay Thai fighter then I reckon the Muay Thai fighter would come out on top

I reckon its pretty important for a decent MMA Fighter to be well disciplined in both fields.

Default Muay Thai

Muay Thai allows for the full use of all limbs. Hence being called art of 8 limbs. One of my strengths is my straight right (along with elbows, knees, and round kicks ( all o which can be executed in or out of the "clinch") boxing limits to one facet of stand up striking. I do believe that if your hands are an issue, spend an extra training session on hands to get better. But there is no substitute for stand up domination. Muay Thai IS stand up fighting.

boxing somehow makes me feel that it is too restricted in that you can only land punches and more punches and a few more punches but thats abuot it. no variations involved

Muay thai all the way! Boxing is great and I like a few rounds of boxing on pads or sparring, but muay thai is a lot more fun to watch and encompasses more techniques. Plus I would be lost without my teep!!!!

For me its the winning stand up martial art.

i prefer do sparr in thaiboxing as i like it when a combo flows together but i would say boxing has more cross over for mma with all the head movement and foot work plus you use your hands for most strikes in mma, not that you dont need thaiboxing.
