Default Creatine

Do any of you guys use creatine supplement drinks or pills?

Which ones do you prefer?

I use LA Muscle Creatine Instant myself, but have been tempted to try other brands lately

Anyone use any others?

Hi Simon welcome to the forum! I dont really like creatine personally as to me it just fills your muscles with water, added strength yes, but if you want muscles that stay I wouldnt use creatine. However, i guess if you use it properly and provided you keep your gains (both strenth and size) after coming off creatine then go for it.
I didnt like it personally, didn't really keep my gains. I say stick to good nutrition/diet of high protein/carbs/good fats, and train hard. That way you'll make consistent gains, albeit gradual, but will more likely keep the strength and size that you've worked so hard for.
Decent Protein shakes such as CNP Professional pro recover and pro peptide. Sci Mentor is great too imo. With CNP you do get what you pay for, and its not cheap!

I try to get my protein from chicken/fish/turkey/etc rather than protein shakes IF i can!

i use GNC performance brand products for creatine and whey. I recommend a half serving of whey and creatine together before and after intense workouts. You dont need full servings and you will see the same results (this was proven in several studies.)

glutamine -http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2133643&cp=3418425.3418426.341 8437

this is for depletion of amino acids.

beta alanine - ULTIMATE NUTRITION® Beta Alanine - ULTIMATE NUTRITION - GNC

this will help with controling lactic acid and fatigue of muscles. Longerworkout more reps and stamina. Your going to "feel the burn" after more reps. and will help when administering chokes and clinching fatigue.

I take the GNC mega men Sport multi vitamin daily. I also recommend that you begin taking calcium daily !! wal mart has a brand that works ok, the higher the quality the more it will absorb into your body though. Dont forget your fish oil!!

It should be cycled 4 weeks on 4 weeks off or your body gets used to saturation of creatine and so down-regulates the absorption of it. Great for hold weight and good for joints. Great for doing strength training. And yes of the 5 or so pounds you gain 4 to 4 and a half of them will be lost when you finish the cycle but you will gain 1 to 1/2 a pound if everything else in your training plan is aimed in that direction. If you add citruline malate and beta-alanine you will utilise far more of the creatine and you'll get the added benefit of a lactic-acid buffer and a powerful intracellular anti-oxidant. These 2 later supplements you don't need to cycle either.
and I would recommend My-Protein for any and all of these supplements

as a bodybuilder for nearly a decade, i would say creatine did nothing for me. others report size and strength gains but i noticed none of it. save your money mate. neil

but there is a lot of evidence both anecdotal and clinical that it does work and has many other benefits other than just size and strength development

all i can offer is my experience. i have used cell-tech, holland and barrets own brand and myproteins and got nothing from any of them. others report differently. realistically, its probably worth your while trying a few other brands and making a decision based on what you find. as said though, not for me.

I took Creatine when I was much younger when I used to work out a lot more...I felt like the results didn't have any longevity.
